Ghost Towns of Eastern Colorado

Rocky Mountain High by John Denver is the vision most of us have of Colorado. My wife and I moved to the Western Slope of Colorado in 2023. We are surrounded by the San Juans mountains to the south of us, the Cimarron Ridge just east and south, the Uncompahgre Plateau to the west of us, and the Grand Valley and Grand Mesa to the north of us. The area we are least familiar with is Eastern Colorado - a vast area of flat prairie comprising nearly half of Colorado.
