DCP 68: We're Gonna Need A Bigger Screen

I went to buy a door handle for my car, and met this 9 year old boy, who had spent his summer building this elaborate cardboard arcade inside his dad's used auto part store. Caine invited me to play, and I couldn't pass up his FunPass deal. http://cainesarcade.com UPDATE: Thank You! Over $240,000 has been donated to Caine's Scholarship Fund, and we started the Imagination Foundation to foster creativity in more kids like Caine. We host an annual Global Cardboard Challenge inspired by Caine's Arcade, and over 200,000 kids in 60 countries have taken part! Please continue to share this story, and lets foster the creativity of every child: http://www.imagination.org Help Caine's Scholarship Fund*: http://cainesarcade.com *$250,000 Goal, donations to Caine's Scholarship are being matched dollar-for-dollar to support the Imagination Foundation! DCP 68: We’re Gonna Need A Bigger Screen
Digital Convergence Podcast | Carl Olson

The buzz is building for NAB. What is Canon going to announce? Wait, not one, but two cameras? planetMitch, Chris Fenwick, and special guest Paul Antico, all chat with me about we might expect from next week's NAB show in Las Vegas.

Also, in the news we talk about the FCP X 10.0.4 update from Apple - and - ouch! - it breaks Red Giant Software's Magic Bullet Looks and probably a whole bunch of other plugins. We talk about Flickr, 500px, and Instagram. In the course of the conversation we invent three new phrases: data tainting, pixel gorillas, and 4K for free. You'll have to listen to the podcast to see what it all means :) Paul Antico talks about his progression from a "convergence" shooter with the Canon 5D Mark II (and now Mark III) to the FS100 to the C300. Chris talks about the question of whether one should switch to Avid.

Of course, we do our usual artist picks and gear picks. Many thanks to CrumplePop for sponsoring the podcast.

Until next week, that's a wrap!
