DCP 151: Kris Simmons on the Commoditization of Video Pros
Video Business Success Coach Kris Simmons takes on the hot topic of the commoditization of video pros.
Kris and I decided to do this episode after hearing this quote in an information product pitch: "There is an over-abundance of videographers and editors." The marketers go on to claim that you can hire videographers for $15 to $30 per hour and hire an editor for $100 and turn around and resale the video for $2000 to local businesses.
I don't know about you, but I want to make more than $15 an hour for my video work. What's a video pro to do? Kris Simmons has some tough love to help us get beyond the perception of the commoditization of video professionals.
A funny short film that takes a satire look at some of the drawbacks in working freelance video production.
