DCP 142: Eli Sasich - Director of Sci-Fi Movies ATROPA and HENRi
Eli Sasich
Director, writer, and editor Eli Sasich joins Carl Olson and Chris Fenwick to talk about two of his recent sci-fi passion projects: HENRi and ATROPA.
Eli discusses how he used a combination of miniature models, puppetry, in-camera effects and CGI to create HENRi - an epic sci-fi short film starring Keir Dullea (2001: A Space Odyssey) and Margot Kidder (Superman). Kickstarter funded, and two years in the making, HENRi tells the story of a derelict spaceship that becomes self-aware and builds itself a mechanical body in order to feel alive.
ATROPA is about an Off-World Detective who investigates the missing research vessel ATROPA. It's a concept short created by Eli Sasich inspired by '70s and '80s sci-fi classics like Alien and Blade Runner.
